The ideal candidate for the Quality Control Supervisor role and key player in our fish farm operations, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee key processes, monitor product quality, and ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining operational excellence while driving continuous improvement in aquaculture best practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Quality Control and Assurance
- Develop and implement quality control processes for all stages of the process flow chain – feed to fish.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits on processes and products to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with operations and sales teams to establish and maintain quality benchmarks.
Process Improvement and Data Analysis
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and product quality.
- Analyze data and trends to proactively address potential quality issues.
- Collect and analyze data on quality metrics and key performance indicators.
Compliance Management and Training
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Conduct internal audits to assess adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Provide training to staff on quality assurance protocols and procedures.
- Foster a culture of quality consciousness and compliance awareness.
- Ensure that team members are adequately trained to meet quality objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting
- Collaborate with production, operations, and other relevant departments to address quality concerns.
- Act as a liaison between different teams to facilitate effective communication on quality-related matters.
- Work closely with suppliers to maintain quality standards in the supply chain.
- Prepare regular reports on quality assurance performance for management review.
- Identify trends and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Aquaculture, Biology, Quality Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications in quality assurance or compliance are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in proven experience in developing and implementing quality control processes within aquaculture, food production, or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality standards (HACCP, GMPs, GHPs), food processing techniques, and relevant industry regulations.
- Ability to conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, identify trends, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and product quality.
- In-depth understanding of industry regulations, internal auditing, and compliance management to maintain operational standards.
- Experience in conducting staff training on quality assurance protocols and fostering a culture of quality consciousness.
- Ability to work with production, operations, and sales teams to maintain quality benchmarks and address quality concerns.
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring clear quality-related communication across departments.
- High level of precision in monitoring quality metrics and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
