We are seeking a highly qualified Quality Control Manager. In this role you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance within our fish farm operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee processes, monitor product quality, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Quality Control Officer Role:
Quality Control and Assurance
- Develop and implement quality control processes for all stages of the production chain – feed to fish.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits on processes and products to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with operations and sales teams to establish and maintain quality benchmarks.
- Take full responsibility over fish quality at Victory Farms
Process Improvement and Data Analysis
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and product quality.
- Analyze data and trends to proactively address potential quality issues.
Compliance Management and Training
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Conduct internal audits to assess adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Provide training to staff on quality assurance protocols and procedures.
- Foster a culture of quality consciousness and compliance awareness.
- Ensure that team members are adequately trained to meet quality objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting
- Collaborate with production, operations, and other relevant departments to address quality concerns.
- Act as a liaison between different teams to facilitate effective communication on quality-related matters.
- Work closely with suppliers to maintain quality standards in the supply chain.
- Prepare regular reports on quality assurance performance for management review.
- Identify trends and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
Manage the Quality Team
- Full responsibility over a 10+ FTE team of quality control and assurance supervisors and assistants located at the farm and our logistic centers.
- Hire more staff for your team as we grow to more logistic centers and a 24h farm operation including night shifts.
- Take an active approach towards senior management in the design of this team and task division within
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Aquaculture, Biology or related discipline.
- Proven experience in quality assurance within the aquaculture or food production industry.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Leadership experience and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
