Long-Haul Driver

Location: Nairobi

Are you an experienced and responsible driver with a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and efficient long-distance transportation?

We are seeking an experienced Long-Haul Driver to join our team at Victory Farms Kenya. The driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting fresh fish and other company goods between our Logistics Centers across Kenya, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining product quality and integrity throughout the journey.

You will play a critical role in supporting our supply chain operations by ensuring goods are transported safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of vehicle care, complying with road safety and government regulations, and upholding safe driving practices throughout each journey.

This is a hands-on operational role for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable with long-distance travel. Your reliability and professionalism will be essential in ensuring a seamless flow of products across our Logistics Centers and the wider Victory Farms network.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transport fresh fish, inputs, and other company goods safely and efficiently between Victory Farms’ logistics centers across Kenya.
2. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
3. Promptly report mechanical faults, damages, accidents or safety concerns and adhere strictly to vehicle repair and preventive maintenance schedules.
4. Maintain cold-chain integrity and ensure proper handling of perishable products during transportation.
5. Plan and adjust travel routes to avoid traffic congestion, road closures, or delays using navigation tools such as Google Maps and other approved applications.
6. Ensure assigned vehicles are adequately fueled, clean, and operational at all times.
7. Assist with loading and offloading of products and materials while ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
8. Complete delivery documentation accurately, including trip logs, fuel records, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
9. Comply with all traffic laws, NTSA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
10. Maintain regular communication with the logistics and dispatch teams regarding trip progress, delays, or incidents.
11. Safeguard company assets, cargo, and equipment during transit.
12. Practice defensive driving techniques and uphold high safety standards at all times.
13. Support emergency response procedures in case of breakdowns or accidents.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Minimum KCSE certificate; Diploma or higher qualification is an added advantage.
2. Valid Driving License with minimum class CE.
3. Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in long-haul or commercial driving.
4. Clean driving record with strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks and regulations.
5. Ability to use navigation applications (Google Maps or similar) effectively.
6. Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
7. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
8. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
9. Good communication skills and a positive, proactive work attitude.
10. Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when required.
