Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Victory Farms Limited is a leading aquaculture company and is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in driving financial strategies for Victory Farms (Kenya) and support the development for Kivu Choice (Rwanda).  

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Oversee and optimize financial operations to align with our strategic goals, driving long-term business success.
  • Business Process Management: Lead the implementation of comprehensive end-to-end business processes across farm operations, logistics, sales, and more, ensuring smooth, efficient operations.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, providing actionable insights to senior management to support key decision-making processes for both Victory Farms and Kivu Choice.
  • Cost Management: Collaborate across departments to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational and financial targets are met.
  • Investment Advisory: Serve as a key financial advisor for major investment projects across farm, logistics, and sales channels, ensuring high ROI.
  • Business Intelligence Development: Support the development of Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities, with experience in PowerBI being highly advantageous.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial processes are compliant with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights that drive decision-making.

Skills and qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field from a reputable institution; a Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • CPA-K/ACCA qualification is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a background in the FMCG, agriculture, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing Management Accounting and Reporting and ability to tie operations and financial KPIs.
  • Proven experience working closely with business units to manage results, budget ownership, and financial oversight.
  • PowerBI experience or other BI development platforms will be an advantage, especially in building analytical tools for strategic decision-making.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modelling and data analysis.
  • A deep understanding of financial controls, risk management, and the enforcement of financial processes across diverse operations.
  • Proactive Leader: Self-driven and innovative, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and foster improvement.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior executives.
  • Integrity & Ethics: Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and integrity in business practices.

About Victory Farms

Victory Farms is building the most sustainable and scalable protein business in Africa through an innovative aquaculture business platform. This vertically integrated protein platform owns and operates the inputs to fish production: feed, genetics and hatchery. The platform owns and operates farming sites, where tilapia is produced efficiently in the pristine waters of Lake Victoria (Kenya) and Lake Kivu (Rwanda). Victory then processes its fish and operates cold chain to move fresh and processed fish throughout Kenya and Rwanda.
